About your stay
Introduction
We hope that all guests have a happy and enjoyable stay at the Braeside Guesthouse. The following information summarises our provision but if you have any questions please contact Clive and Linda who will be happy to help.
Checking in and out
For the convenience of incoming guests, we require rooms to be vacant by 10am on the day of departure. Later departure time may, however, be possible upon request. Normal check-in time is 12 noon onwards but earlier arrivals can be arranged.
Cancellations
In case of a cancellation, please give us 48 hours notice (1 week for group bookings). In the event of less than 48 hours notice of cancellation of your booking, we would make every effort to re-let the accommodation. However, we reserve the right to charge you to the full cost of the booking if the room is not subsequently re-let.
Smoking
Please note that all our bedrooms and the breakfast room are NON SMOKING. We do however have a lovely front garden where you are able to smoke if you wish.

Damage to guesthouse property
In the event of damage to guesthouse property, we reserve the right to charge to replace, repair or professionally clean the item concerned. We hope you have a lovely, trouble-free stay but if you do have any problems at all please speak to Clive or Linda.

Getting to us by bus
There is a bus stop which is serviced by a frequent local service on Hele Road approximately 3-4 minutes away on foot from the Bus and Coach Station. There is a 24 hour taxi rank at the Bus and Coach Station. The journey will take approximately 5 minutes and will cost in the region of £4.00. If you prefer to walk, it will take about 10 minutes. On leaving the Bus and Coach Station, turn right onto Paris Street and walk up the hill to the traffic lights.At the traffic lights, turn left onto the High Street. Walk along the High Street until you come to Marks & Spencer. Here you will need to turn right onto Queen Street.Continue to walk along Queen Street until you come to the Clock Tower, here you will need to turn right onto New North Road. We are then situated approximately 150 yards on the left.

Getting to us by train (Exeter St. David's)
We are located an approximate 10 minute walk from Exeter St Davids Railway Station.On leaving the station, walk straight across the road. You will see a notice directing you to the City Centre; follow this pathway which will take you to St Davids Hill.At the top of the pathway turn right onto St Davids Hill and continue up the hill until you see a mini roundabout, turn left and walk up to the set of traffic lights, turn right, walk towards the clock tower roundabout this is approx. 100 yards carry on across the roundabout and we are 150 yards on the right hand side.Please Note: St Davids Hill is very steep and if you have difficulty walking, or have heavy bags to carry, you may prefer to take a taxi or a local bus.There is a 24 hour taxi rank located at Exeter St Davids Railway Station. The journey will take approximately 5 minutes and cost in the region of £4.00.

Getting to us by train (Exeter Central)
The Braeside is located approximately 5 minute walk from Exeter Central Railway Station. On leaving the station, turn right onto Queen Street and continue to walk along Queen Street until you come to the Clock Tower.Here you will need to turn right onto New North Road, we are 150 yards on the left hand side.If you have heavy bags you may prefer to take a taxi. The journey will cost approximately £3.00 and will just take a couple of minutes. Please note there is not a designated taxi rank at the station so you may have to book a taxi in advance. Getting to us by from Exeter Airport
The Braeside is located approximate by a 20 minute car journey from Exeter Airport, depending upon traffic. Please follow the directions from the M5 as detailed below. If you take a taxi the cost will be in the region of £15.00.There is also a bus service that runs into Exeter. The service numbers are Service 56 and Service 379. For further information and the times of the services please visit the operator's website: www.stagecoachbus.com.
Alternatively, there is an airport TaxiBus Service which is the the airport based taxi company and operates a TaxiBus to Exeter St. Davids Railway Station and the Coach Station on demand between the 56 and 379 services. A minimum of 3 people are required for this service (approximately £5.00 per person). Taxi rates apply at other times.

From the M5
Leave the M5 at Junction 29 and take the road signposted Exeter. At traffic lights turn right onto Honiton Road - B3183 and head for the City Centre. Drive through the City Centre on B3183 signposted Tiverton & Crediton. Continue on main road.when you are on New North Road we are 150 yards before the clock tower on the right hand side. From A30 and A303 from the East (Honiton), follow the directions as detailed from the M5. From A30 and A38 from the West (South Devon and Cornwall). From the A30 at the Alphington Junction, branch left (signposted Exeter), then at the roundabout take the first exit onto the A377 (signposted Exeter) continue along the A377 and under the railway bridge through 2 sets of traffic lights. Then take the 3rd exit onto Bonhay Road (signposted Crediton). Continue along Bonhay Road past Exeter St Davids Train Station which will be on your left until you come to a mini roundabout. Turn right onto St Davids Hill (signposted City Centre). Continue up St Davids Hill to a mini roundabout. Turn left and up to the set of traffic lights, turn right, towards the clock tower roundabout. This is approximately 100 yards. Carry on across the roundabout and we are 150 yards on the left hand side. Arrival & car parking facilities
On arrival at Braeside please walk into the main entrance. On the left-side of the front door is a security intercom system. Please ring the reception bell. A member of staff will check you into the guesthouse, show you to your room and assist you with your luggage. Car parking at the Braeside is on main road, for which will need a parking voucher from ourselves at £1.50 per 24hrs.

Main entrance & reception
The main entrance to Braeside is up four steps. Reception is open between the hours of 7:30am and 10:00pm. Arrivals after this time are by prior arrangement only. Using the Braeside front door, walk straight ahead through the hallway to the reception. The door entrance is 80cm wide and the width of the hallway is approximately 106cm. The main entrance and all of the public floor areas are carpeted.

Public areas - General (Internal) Dining Room
Tables have an under-space of 68 cm, by 62 cm wide and a height of 73cm. The Dining Room floor is fully carpeted. We cater for Vegetarians and Vegans and with prior arrangement other special dietary requirements. Background music is played during breakfast in the dining room.

We regret that we are unable to provide laundry facilities.

Leisure facilities
Although we do not have on site leisure facilities, Exeter abounds with interesting things to see and do and we will be happy to advise on local atractions etc.

Grounds and gardens
We have a small patio area in the front garden ( picture on homepage). Access to the front garden is from the main entrance there is one step.

Conference & meeting rooms, banqueting, clubs & entertainment
Unfortunately we are unable to provide conference, meeting room, banqueting, club or entertainment facilities.

Bedrooms
We have 7 bedrooms in total. We have no ground floor rooms. There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor accessed by 12 steps, 2 bedrooms on the second floor accessed by 12 steps, 2 bedrooms on the third floor accessed by 12 steps. All rooms have carpet tea/coffee making facilities.There are banister rails to each landing. All doors leading into bedrooms are 198cm x 81cm and these are the same size as the doors leading into the ensuite bathrooms. All shower tray and doors are 760mm x 760mm. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the building.
Television
Guests are able to enjoy Freeview television in all rooms.
